About:

Gold Mining Adventure Weekend

Discover the Gold within you and define your life’s purpose

What is it?

In this 3-day immersive weekend retreat you will get to attend interactive workshops where -

  1. You will learn ways to accept your parts, especially the ones you judge to be broken.

  2. You will discover the gifts that these parts bring in your life.

  3. You will identify your North Star and define your life's purpose.

Who is this event for?

This event if for you if you feel stuck in your life and want to break free from self-beliefs that are holding you back. It is for you if you feel lost in life and want to find your purpose so you can take control of your life and decide where your life is heading. This event is for people of all genders, and ages 21 and up. This event is open to beginners and experts alike. The only prerequisites are ability to speak & understand English, and an innate desire to learn to love yourself and / or find your purpose in life.

Why was this event created?

Vast majority of self-improvement tools in the market teach you how to change yourself to become someone different, to become better, more confident, more successful, happier, etc. They operate from an idea that you lack something today, and to improve your life you must change one or more aspects of yourself – they teach you what you need to change, and they may even teach you how you can make that change.

While there is value in this approach of 'constant learning and constant growth', we believe there is another philosophy that's more important to be learned first.

The philosophy that you are enough as you are today. You deserve a safe space where you can look inward and learn to love yourself as you are today, learn to love the parts of you that you judge to be broken / unlovable, learn to express the parts that you keep hidden because someone somewhere taught you that you must hide that part of you. That’s unhealthy, and more importantly, that’s unsustainable. You and all parts of you deserve to be loved by you unconditionally.

From this foundation of self-acceptance, self-love, and security people can show up in the world with their cups filled and live a life where they share their gifts with the world, a life of purpose.

This is a learned skill and it takes practice, the Gold Mining Adventure Weekend was created to teach these skills.

Who are we?

This event is co-created by men and women who were themselves stuck once upon a time and found their way out, and now they are here to share the roadmap with everyone else. The workshop facilitators have been creating this immersive experience for men since 2019 and this year they are opening up the doors to this space for people of all gender-identities.

Who are the facilitators?

Shirin Biswas

A 34-year old Mechanical Engineer with a Masters Degree from Duke University, Shirin works full-time as a Project Manager in Charlotte, NC and spends his spare time volunteering with non-profits like The ManKind Project and The Gold Mining Foundation where he facilitates Mental Health Support Circles for people of all gender identities.

Shirin’s mission is to co-create a world where people practice Emotional Hygiene daily. Using his background in Engineering & Human Centered Design, Shirin has created several psychotherapy tools that teach people tangible ways to perform and maintain Emotional Hygiene.
